Financial seatbelts shouldn’t just be reserved for the Rolls-Royce owners.” Henry has over 10 years of investment experience, including as the lead developer at CSS Analytics. In that role, he built futures trading strategies for institutional clients including a $3 billion Commodity Trading Advisor and VT International, an Australian hedge fund. He is the co-author of the paper “Minimum Correlation Algorithm.” At Broadridge, Henry worked with over 30 software engineers on portfolio and banking software that is currently used by institutional wealth managers such as Fidelity, Scotiabank, Raymond James and Canaccord. Working with large firms, Henry had a behind-the-scenes look at just how slow innovation could be in the investment industry. Henry is an engineering and finance major with extensive knowledge in R, and currently holds the FINRA Series 65 license and Canadian Securities Course. Henry is a music junkie, hockey goalie and a fanatic for motion pictures.

Investment risk management needs to be a basic human right.” Jesse has over 10 years of software development experience and has worked at Electronic Arts, Thomson Reuters, NGRAIN, and the University of British Columbia. Jesse worked on EA’s largest and most successful franchise, FIFA, where he shipped 12 titles between 2008-2015. At NGRAIN, he developed training applications for several military organizations such as the U.S. Dept. of Defense, and Canadian Dept. of National Defense. Jesse has a Computer Science degree from the University of British Columbia. A futsal fanatic, Jesse also loves programming, coffee, and gaming, in any combination.
Senior Software Engineer

So be humble, or the users will humble you.” David is responsible for the full-stack development of Cassia Copilot, the world’s first investment management SaaS web platform built for investment advisors. During his ten-year tenure at Electronic Arts, David designed and developed key online features within FIFA, and was responsible for maintaining its online tech stack. David also served as one of the technical leads within the development release engineering team where he frequently liaised with both engineers and technical directors. David holds a Computer Engineering degree from the University of British Columbia. He takes an interest in football, the acoustic guitar and is a sucker for Korean dramas.

Besides advising on the design, development and implementation of Cassia Research’s strategic plans, Jean-Marc is CEO of the Hillcore Group, a private equity firm with over $4.4 billion in assets under management. Jean-Marc is also Chairman of Waiward Steel, one of Canada’s leading steel fabrication and construction companies. Previously, Jean-Marc was Managing Director in RBC Capital Markets’ investment banking group. As part of his 15-year career with RBC Capital Markets, he was involved in numerous financings (debt, equity, IPO) and M&A assignments in Canada, Europe, South America and the United States. Between 1997 and 2001, Jean-Marc was a Principal with Royal Bank Equity Partners, where he sourced, executed and monitored investments for RBC’s private equity group. Jean-Marc completed a Masters in Finance degree at the London Business School in the UK.

Mojan has over 5 years of software sales experience, including selling directly to RIAs and IBDs while working at Global Relay, a Fintech firm, and most recently in enterprise sales at SAP. Not satisfied with routine, Mojan created and put in place alternative campaigns that consistently boosted response rates by 2.5X in the Large Enterprise space.

Desmond developed a SaaS solution for farmers to optimize crop yield where he received the People’s Choice Award from Lighthouse Labs. Seeking the most out of life, Desmond was in Korea for 4 years where he taught and engaged young students by incorporating technology and software development. He has a Computer Science degree from Simon Fraser University.
Junior Product Manager
Nigel is responsible for product strategy, execution, and creating highly unique products that users want. Nigel has a graduate degree in Finance from Simon Fraser University. During his studies, Nigel helped manage over $16M of the university’s endowment fund as the US Equity portfolio manager. Nigel is also a photography geek and a cycling enthusiast who aims to do the Gran Fondo one day (and enjoy a grand fondue afterwards).
Junior Software Engineer
Besides writing code and a passion for artificial intelligence, Jackson brings with him experience backpacking across 8 countries as well as building out infrastructure and libraries in Ghana. Jackson previously worked as a full-stack developer for Pressimus Media and is Lighthouse Labs alumni with a BBA from Simon Fraser University.
Peter brings with him 25 years of experience in enterprise technology, commercialization and startup consulting to Cassia. The companies advised by Peter have a collective valuation of $300 million, one of which was acquired for $70 million in only 2 and a 1/2 years. Peter also serves as the technology advisor & entrepreneur-in-residence to the Hillcore Group, a private equity firm with $4.4 billion assets under management where he is responsible for guidance on market activities and insights into the high-growth technology sector. Having worked with both private and public companies, Peter has developed expertise in areas as diverse as global manufacturing, automotive, gaming, software, hardware, enterprise, e-commerce, business development, strategic sales, channel & partnership, cloud brokerages, robotics, and augmented reality. Further Peter is actively involved in technology accelerators and venture builds, advising companies on growth and multi-channel revenue generation.
Currently the President of CONCERT Wealth Management, an RIA with $2 billion assets under management. Jeff is previously a RIA Representative in the state of Washington, who has worked in the active and alternative investment industry since 2001. He is a recognized writer and sought after guest speaker on the topics of active portfolio management and quantitative trading system development and analysis. Previously, Jeff served as CEO of a tactical manager of managers platform, CEO of a venture-backed hospital products company, principal at a real estate consulting firm, and COO of a high-end themed attractions enterprise. He began his career as a Management Consultant at KPMG Peat Marwick. Jeff has been a Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder since 2002. He holds an MBA in Finance, Strategy, and Marketing from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, a JD from the Northwestern University School of Law, and a BS from Cornell University.
